The Cold Case Investigative Research Institute (CCIRI), founded by Sheryl “Mac” McCollum in 2004, is a nationwide volunteer network dedicated to helping solve unsolved homicides, missing persons, and kidnapping cases.

By uniting researchers, practitioners, students, and criminal justice professionals, CCIRI creates a collaborative approach to cold case investigations that supports both law enforcement and victims’ families.

With more than 27 colleges and universities, over 8,000 students, and 600 experts contributing their time and expertise, CCIRI continues to advance research, training, and investigative techniques in the pursuit of justice.
